Damgo guide

Save just the audio from a video link

Paste a video link into Damgo and choose Audio to save the sound as a separate file. Select MP3, M4A or WAV, then check the destination folder. The feature works on Mac and Windows with an activated, purchased license.

Steps to save the audio

  1. Choose a link you can download

Copy a link to your own video or media you have permission to download.

  2. Select Audio

Paste the link into Damgo and choose Audio as the save type.

  3. Choose a format and folder

Select MP3, M4A or WAV to suit your player or editing application, and check where the file will be saved.

  4. Save and open the file

Start saving. Once the item is complete, open the file and check that it contains the sound you need.

Choosing MP3, M4A or WAV

Changing the format does not improve the quality of the original source. Play the saved result to check it.

  • MP3: choose it when your device or application asks for an MP3 file.
  • M4A: an option when your player or workflow supports M4A.
  • WAV: choose it when an editing application needs a WAV file. Check the resulting file size as well.

What this feature covers

Enter an online media link to save its audio as a separate file.

Media behind a login or access restriction requires the appropriate permission. DRM-protected content is not supported, and a site’s current behavior can affect whether saving works.

Finding your saved audio

Check the destination folder on the Downloads screen. Completed items let you open the file or its folder. Change the destination folder if you want future files to be saved somewhere else.

Questions

Can I save audio from a YouTube link?

You can try saving supported media as audio. Use your own content or media you have permission to download. Saving every link is not guaranteed.

Does audio-only saving need a license?

Yes. Both video and audio downloads require a purchased, activated license. One computer can be active at a time.

Do I need to download saved audio again?

Files already saved remain in the folder on your computer. If the file is there, you can open it without downloading it again.

Start with what you want to save.
